SCOPE OF THE TRAINING
The goal of the Commercial Pilot License Training Program is to train the candidate to act as a pilot in command of a single or multi engine airplane under Visual Flight Rules for commercial purposes.
In addition, an Instrument Rating (IR) flying training course, separate but essential to commercial aviation, is held, to train the student to the level of proficiency necessary to conduct safe and effective flights in Instrument Meteorological Conditions (IMC) under Instrument Flight Rules (IFR) to a minimum decision height of an airport.
The IR Course can be credited towards a commercial rating or can be part of an EASA modular professional training program.
TARGET GROUP
Men and women over 18 years old, with no previous flight experience can participate in the program.
DURATION
The duration of this course depends on the student’s personal progress, weather conditions at the airports that Aeroservices Flight Training uses, and success in HCAA written examinations. A valid estimation would be between 12 and 36 months. (Usually approx. 18 months)
Aeroservices Flight Training is authorized to train in a Modular Course manner. That gives the trainee the flexibility to take training in steps (first PPL, then IR, then CPL). Each step interval cannot exceed 30 days. However, it is possible to undertake the training in one continuous session at the average of the time frame mentioned above.
The general requirements to commence your Aviation Training are the
appropriate class 1 Medical Certificate and a sufficient knowledge and
understanding of the English Language. Basic High School level knowledge of
Math and Physics is also required and will be tested. Upon request, AEROSERVICES can offer
referrals for approved Medical Examiners in your area.
LANGUAGE OF THE PROGRAM
All of the Training Material is in English and most of the Theoretical Lectures are held
in English.
FLIGHT TRAINING
Flight training takes place at Megara General Aviation Airport, located 35 km
from downtown Athens, where AEROSERVICES’s fleet of 2 SOCATA TB-9’s – 1
PIPER Arrow (Complex a/c) and 1 PIPER SENECA multi engine a/c are based. All
aircrafts are stationed and maintained through Licensed Aeroservices
Maintenance Repair Organization.
Flight training consists of 200 hours of flight Instruction combined with solo
flights. Flight hours are calculated in Engine On/Engine Off increments of 6
minutes.
The Flight Training Program Overview is as follows:
• PPL Module
100 HRS In-house theoretical Knowledge Instruction
45 Hrs Flight Training
• Build Up Module
60 hrs PIC (pilot in command) on a TB-9
• 5 hrs flight Night Qualification
• 10 hrs flight training in basic Instruments on a PA28/180 R (Arrow)
• CPL Module
30 Hrs of flight Instruction on a TB-9
Additionally the trainee can choose to attain more in depth knowledge to Commercial
Aviation by attending:
• Multi Engine Module
8 Hrs Theory
6 Hrs Flight Training on a PIPER SENECA ii
• IR/Single Engine / Multi Engine Module
35 Hrs FNPT II
15 Hrs PIPER ARROW
THEORETICAL TRAINING
The Residential Theory starts with the knowledge required to obtain the PPL
(PRIVATE PILOT LICENCE).
Most of the CPL License Theoretical Training takes place at the AEROSERVICES Training
Center, at Megara Airport. It includes 11 Learning Modules or Lessons and it
amounts up to 276 hrs of theoretical Knowledge Instruction. Upon completion of
the Theoretical Training you will be able to take your exams at the Hellenic Civil
Aviation Authority for the CPL (A) License.
Additionally, for the Instrument Rating, the amount of theoretical Knowledge
Instruction amounts up to 180 hrs and the flight/simulator module must reach the
amount of 50 hrs of training.
RATINGS AND LICENSES
With the successful completion of the Program, the candidate will achieve:
An EASA Commercial Pilot License with Instrument Rating and possibly a Multi
Engine Rating [CPL (A) and IR SE or / and ME] valid and recognized in all Member
States of the European Union and through credit and validation to the most
ICAO compliant countries.
We look forward to welcome you as one of AEROSERVICES Flight Training pilots!
